Come and Sing With Sir John Rutter
WCAF are delighted to announce that legendary choral composer and conductor John Rutter will be delivering one of his fantastic 'Come and Sing' days on Saturday 15th March 2025 as part of the festival. If you love singing and can read a bit of music, then this fabulous workshop is for you. Anyone from age 9 to 109 is welcome! (Under 16s MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 18+).
The Come and Sing day will take place at the Royal Grammar School, Worcester, alongside the WCAF poetry, prose and drama sections. Doors open for the Come and Sing day at 10am, for a prompt 11am start and it will conclude at around 4.45pm. Music scores will be provided on the day.
The proceeds of the Come and Sing day will support free entry and workshops for all choirs and large ensembles entering WCAF, enabling us to widen access to the creative and performing arts to as many people as possible. We are deeply indebted to John for his support of WCAF.
During the evening of 15th March, John will also present a more intimate session: 'Confessions of a Composer'. This inspiring evening will focus on his work and the creative process behind it. Doors will open at 6.30pm and the event will start at 7pm. The venue for this session is yet to be confirmed, but refreshments will be available.
Tickets for both the above events are strictly limited, so early booking is essential.
